After the Federal Court upheld Najib Razak’s conviction and sentencing in the SRC International case on August 23, he is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence.
PETALING JAYA: According to one of his aides, former prime minister Najib Razak has been admitted to the hospital for a checkup.
“(He) is still getting checked out by the doctor. According to the aide, he was reportedly in some pain.
Astro Awani had earlier stated that Najib had been admitted to the hospital but that the reason for that admission was unknown.
It further stated that Najib was “undergoing the requisite medical checks” and was in a “stable condition”.
After the Federal Court confirmed his conviction and imprisonment in the SRC International case on August 23, Najib is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence at the Kajang prison.
The top court also upheld the RM210 million fine he was given after being found guilty of seven counts of abuse of authority, money laundering, and criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM42 million in SRC funds.
